Waukegan Illinois, Spring Perch Fishing Guide
Starting in late March the perch bite out of Waukegan Illinois starts to get good. I will generally target these fish in 30-60 feet of water with minnows and crab tails. The fish we catch at this time average between 10 and 14 inches and are some of the best tasting perch you have ever tasted. The nice thing about fishing for perch in Illinois is that you are able to keep 15 perch rather than 5 in Wisconsin. We get limits of perch on a regular basis and unlike some charters that end your trip when you have reached your limit, when we are limited out on perch I switch to coho salmon fishing till your time is up.
