About Your Trip
When you book a trip with Ben Kueng’s Guide
service you can expect the highest level of expertise and
professionalism. Guiding is my
full-time job and I take what I do very seriously. I will
go to any lengths to make your trip as enjoyable as
possible and if there’s anything I can do to further
exceed your expectations, please don’t hesitate to ask.
The
time of year and client preference will dictate exactly
where and what we will be fishing for (please see the
“waters” page for more info) Start time and where we meet
will vary, but I will provide precise directions to the
lake we will be fishing each day. I can also
accommodate your lodging needs, just call or email me for
more info.
My
clientele ranges from anglers who are looking to learn a
particular lake in more detail, to father/son,
husband/wife combos that fish with me for 7+ days. I fish
a variety of lakes and can accommodate any angler of any
experience level. Each lake is a little different, but is
categorized as either a “trophy” or “numbers” lake. On a
“numbers” lake you can generally catch as many fish as you
want, but they usually run smaller. On a “trophy” lake you
will catch fewer fish, but the average size will be much
larger than on a “numbers” lake.
My goal
for each trip is to provide a fun, safe, informative, and
productive outing. I am generally on the water 7 days a
week whether I have clients or not. Patterning the daily
transitions and movements of the fish ensures the best
possible fishing for you, the client. Besides, do you
really need an excuse to go fishing everyday? Needless to
say, I really enjoy what I do and love sharing my vast
amount of knowledge with my clients.
You
will be fishing from a Ranger 620 tiller “Deep V”
multi-species boat with a 115 Yamaha 4 stroke. My boat is
over 20’ with plenty of room for 3 anglers plus myself and
is very comfortable to fish from, even with a good chop on
the water. My boat is set up to troll 9+ lines with planer
boards, cast, jig or live bait fish for any species. My
goal is to put you on the most fish that I possibly can,
by utilizing the most productive method of fishing during
your trip.
I am a
connoisseur of fishing equipment and only fish with the
highest quality gear to ensure no malfunctions during your
outing. I spend on average over $200 a week at various
bait shops in order to keep the most current lures in my
arsenal. Fishing with the highest quality gear doesn’t
always mean the most expensive, but is imperative when you
have the fish of a lifetime hooked up. I’ve suffered
through much heartbreak on the water during the early
years, but have gained priceless knowledge from each
incident that I can pass onto you.
Most
trips will last longer than specified and drive time/lunch
break is not counted towards your fishing time. If the
fish are biting you will be hard pressed to get me off the
water. I want you to leave knowing that we fished at the
best possible time and caught the most and biggest fish
possible during your outing. There’s no place I would
rather be than in my boat fishing with clients, so rest
assured you will get every dollars worth.
